- Sunset Cliffs Natural Park — Cliffs face almost due west, so the sun drops straight into the ocean in front of you.
- Windansea Beach — Sculpted rock ledges, breaking surf, and the palm-roofed surf shack.
- La Jolla Cove — The curve lets you shoot along the coastline; soft light that flatters portraits.
- Shell Beach, La Jolla — A small pocket of sand framed by rock — the intimate frame when the Cove is crowded.
- Coast Walk Trail, La Jolla — The elevated view: the whole curve of coastline in one wide frame.
